I Dream of Astronauts

When I was a little kid, I dreamed of becoming an astronaut.

Spoiler: It's a dream that didn't come true. 

But, in the fall of 2024, I had a chance to be an astronaut for a day when I joined the NASA Artemis crews for some training extravehicular activities (EVAs) at our research station on Catalina Island. These EVAs didn't require travel to outer space, but they did involve a dive to inner space. NASA built a mock-up of their lunar lander in our cove and trained at depth to simulate the low-g environment they'll experience on the moon.
